Situated lakeside, KA is our special place.
Our focus is on the freshest local ingredients, treated with care—and did we mention fire? Whether it's our outdoor, wood-only grill or our smokehouse, it's fair to say we're a little obsessed. Yes, charring lettuce over manuka wood might sound unusual, but wait until you try it alongside our cold-smoked trout, caught just moments earlier.
The KA team can't wait to open and welcome you to our kitchen garden. Have you ever tasted asparagus picked just moments before being charred over hot coals? Trust us, it's something truly special.
We pair our food with an incredible selection of wines from bespoke small wineries in our region. If you love Pinot Noir, we think you’ll be enamoured with our selection. But our tastes aren’t solely local—we also curate a beautiful collection of wines from around the world. Think a mineral-rich French Chablis to complement rich, smoked venison, or a beautifully structured Tempranillo from Spain to pair with our cured Ibérico ham.
Sauna
Utilising state-of-the-art infrared technology, the sauna hidden in a quiet area on the way to the lake surrounded by nature offers a cutting-edge relaxation experience. Featuring a picture-frame window, it provides stunning views of lake and across to the epic mountain ranges. This unique design element ensures guests can unwind while being enveloped by the serene beauty of the natural landscape, creating a truly immersive and rejuvenating experience.
Day Spa
Also situated at the very front of the site, the spa area is thoughtfully designed to immerse guests in the natural environment while ensuring complete privacy. This serene sanctuary features two elegantly appointed treatment rooms and a consultation area, providing versatile options for a range of spa services.

Situated at the very front of the site with a breath-taking view of the lake . Guests will feel at one with nature, surrounded by lush green bushland when in the lodge fitness area. With state-of-the art equipment and facilities, the space has been designed to offer a full body work out as well as daily instruction and classes by fitness professionals.

We blame it on our owner. He claims he doesn’t know much about wine, but you wouldn’t think that if you saw the ever-growing collection. We suspect it’s his passion project. From exceptional single-vineyard vintage Pinot Noirs from the Otago region to bespoke French, Spanish, and Italian wines, the selection is truly special. You’ll discover flavours and experiences you never knew you were missing. Whether you prefer well-structured, earthy reds or fruit-forward Sauvignon Blancs, we hope there’s something in our cellar that makes you say, WOW!
The space we’re creating in the cellar is our architect’s passion project. Hidden beneath the restaurant, it’s designed as a retreat—pull up a chair, open a bottle, let it breathe, wait… now taste. Mmm... pretty damn good, right?
If you fancy some company, our sommelier can take you on a journey through some of the world’s most beautiful vineyards. Your tastebuds will thank you for the experience—just don’t blame us if you can’t find most of these wines at your local bottle shop...

STILLWATERS GIN
Waimarino, meaning "Still Waters" in Māori, is nestled in the tranquil beauty of Bob’s Cove, the perfect setting to unwind with a cocktail. Inspired by the essence of this pristine corner of Aotearoa, we created Still Waters Gin to capture its spirit—infused with native botanicals, crisp air, and pure flavours.
Our gin reflects the region’s character, while our vodka, distilled seven times in handcrafted copper stills, ensures exceptional purity and smoothness. Both spirits use water sourced from nearby glacial fields, enhancing their unique qualities. Committed to organic methods, we craft small-batch spirits with a silky-smooth mouthfeel and botanical undertones, offering a taste that elevates every sip into something truly special.
ELECTRIC LAKE BOATS
The lodge offers a range of electric boats exclusively for our guests. Experienced skippers can take a picnic boat out on the lake themselves—perfect for a sunset escape with a gourmet picnic hamper from our kitchen and your favourite bottle of wine.
If you’d rather sit back and relax, one of our experienced team members can take you out on our beautiful lodge boat to explore the wider lake. Let us drop you off on a secluded beach, accessible only by boat, or try your hand at trolling for lake trout while enjoying great conversation—and perhaps an ale or two.
